DOMAIN F: TPE 12 & 13

I put the following YouTube video together regarding this TPE which provides an overview of professional, legal and ethical obligations of teachers. I am also a member of the Anti-Bullying learning community on EdWeb.net and have attached some artifactts below including a certificate of completion for an anti-bullying course I took and associated articles. Another article I have attached is a team presentation entitled the Many Faces of Bullying: Athletes and High School Hiearchy that I produced while in the Class Management course at National University. Also attached you will find a literature review on cyber-bullying.

#5: JUVENILE DELINQUENCY REPORT:
The following link is to a report I did on the juvenile justice system in CA for a colleague of mine. As part of this report I interviewed a top Forensic Psychologist in Sacramento who was an expert in the Juvenile Justice system. Ironically this report turned out to benefit me more than my colleague because I realized that as a teacher I really needed to understand our system -- especially given the fact that I work with a lot of "at risk" youth. I think that schools needs to hold meetings with students to let them know why they want to avoid being part of this system and pull in some experts from the courts and law enforcement. Based on this report, I put together a brochure of community resources to help parents in case their teen gets into trouble and is going through the CA system.  The State of Juvenile Deliquency in CA Community Resources

IDEA is a national effort to connect education with and through our nation’s democratic values. We believe in an education that allows students and teachers to discover and expand their capacity and joy for learning and to thrive through active participation in vibrant learning communities. This is democratic education in action, which unfortunately is at odds with what most young people and educators throughout the country experience in schools today. We know there are teachers, students and communities across the country doing incredible work to help students engage meaningfully in their education. IDEA trusts, supports, and expands the capacity of people advancing democratic education by creating connections, developing alliances, and sharing resources among actors and organizations engaged in powerful, effective educational innovation. Through its unique community organizer model, IDEA is building the courage and the capacity of young people, educators, and communities to transform the US educational system in ways that honor the complexities of different communities and contribute to build a more just, democratic and sustainable world.  LINK TO IDEA
